How Can We Help?
God’s plan includes helping those around us – and sometimes, we are the people in need. Supporting others is a major part of the St. Matthew mission, and we have resources for people in crisis.
Financial Crisis Assistance
Our Community Assistance Ministry helps people within our geographic ministry area (primarily Walled Lake and Wixom, Michigan) who are experiencing financial crisis. We may be able to assist with situations such as housing evictions or utility shut-offs. Contact the church office at 248-624-7676, and the information will be forwarded to our team of dedicated volunteers who will follow up and speak with you regarding your situation. Our team members will verify your information and determine whether we can provide assistance.
Pastoral Care
The pastors at St. Matthew are willing and available to provide spiritual care during difficult times. They can provide spiritual guidance and help you navigate the difficulties of life, and they would love to visit your hospitalized or homebound loved ones. Contact the church office at 248-624-7676.
Grief Support
You’re also encouraged to attend an informational grief seminar, Navigating the Grief Journey. During the one evening session, we will explore the basics of the grief journey including what grief is and what it isn’t. We’ll also discuss practical tools to help navigate the challenges faced following the loss of a loved one and offer additional resources for next steps. Visit the St. Matthew Events page to find the date of our next session. Please contact Sandy if you’re planning to attend.
For continuing support, New Hope Center for Grief Support offers workshops and groups. Contact Sandy or New Hope for details.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Matthew 5:4
