Women of St. Matthew, join us for a time to be still and take a deep breath for the beginning of this Advent Season.

We will offer a program filled with meaningful meditations, music, activities, food and fellowship. There is no "hostess" sign up, but you are welcome to invite family members and friends and plan to sit with one another, as together we bring into focus the meaning of this time of Advent.

Be still and know
that the coming King is the Savior of the world,
born to rescue and save each and every one of us.

Be still and know
that this King and Savior knows you by name,
and is with you through good times and bad.

Be still and know.

Please join us for a time of reflection and anticipation. Please join us for a time of intentional preparation of our hearts, amidst the busyness of the season. Please join us for a time of remembering the reason that Jesus came.

There is no charge for this event, but we are asking people to bring an easily sharable savory (appetizer / charcuterie board) or sweet (dessert / fruit) dish. We will also offer a cannoli bar and provide supplies for the activities. All women, high school age and up, are welcome to attend!

Out of gratitude for all that our King and Savior has done for us, we will also be collecting items to donate to HAVEN of Oakland County, a shelter and advocacy center for victims of domestic abuse. Please see their website www.haven-oakland.org for the most up to date list of items, but here is a summary of their needs:

Gift cards to major gas stations, grocery stores, and retail stores

Items such as: Body Lotion, Boys Underwear, Paper Towel, Toilet Paper, Laundry Soap, Cleaning Supplies (Clorox wipes, Lysol spray, Hand sanitizer, Kitchen/Bath Cleaner etc), Women’s Leggings (all sizes, but especially plus size), Full size sheet sets, Pots and pans, Silverware, Reusable Plastic Cups, Bath towels, Boxed cereal
