DESCRIPTION:As a new school year begins\, we invite children to bring their backpacks to worship on Sunday\, August 30 for a special Blessing of the Backpacks during the Children’s Message at all worship services. \nThis is a wonderful opportunity to begin the year with Christ at the center. Together we’ll pray that God would watch over our students\, protect them throughout the school year\, help them grow in wisdom and faith\, and give them courage to shine His light in their classrooms\, on their teams\, and among their friends. \nDon’t have a backpack or forgot to bring it? No worries! We’d still love for every child to come forward to receive God’s blessing and our prayers. \nJoin us as we send our students into a new school year with the confidence that the Lord goes with them every step of the way.

DESCRIPTION:Becoming a Member\nThe New Member Class is designed for all who want to explore and/or become a follower of Jesus with membership at St. Matthew. \nIt is a multi-week experience designed to assist those joining the journey toward spiritual maturity as a committed follower of Jesus. \nThe goal of this experience is to assist individuals in: \n\nUnderstanding essentials truths for renewing and growing in a relationship with God\nLearning Biblical truths that are distinctive to our denomination\nBecoming familiar with how life in Jesus is lived out with His people at St. Matthew\nTaking the next step in growing spiritually with God’s people at St. Matthew\n\nBecoming a member of St. Matthew involves three things: \n\nTaking the New Member Class.\nUpon completion of the class\, individuals will have a personal interview with a spiritual coach to assist in developing a plan for individual/family spiritual development.
