The “10 For 2” Bible Reading Plan is designed to add a unique and insightful new twist to reading God’s Word, while also keeping things highly-sustainable for the reader. They are free and for you at the Welcome Center. Here are some of the features of the plan that help to do this:
- The readings are arranged chronologically (in the order that the events of the books actually took place.) For example, the book of Job will be read at the time that its events actually took place, to the best of our knowledge, following Genesis chapter 11. Or, the books of the various prophets will be interjected into the books of Kings and Chronicles at the times when they actually prophesied.
- The readings are paced in such a way so as to prevent ‘spiritual indigestion’ and burnout. For example, Saturdays and Sundays are designated as “reflection days”, so that people can naturally process and reflect on what they’ve read, as well as catch up with any readings that they may have missed. The fact that this reading plan has been stretched out over a period of two years rather than one year is designed to guard against burnout as well (just 10 minutes of reading a day for 2 years; thus, “10 for 2”).
