It feels like the end of vacation. (What?!) Yup. When vacation is ending, I grieve that the good time is coming to a close. But I always say to my wife, "The best part of the end of a vacation is that I get to take you home with me."
Similarly, as we finish the last chapter of The Story, I am lamenting that this journey is concluding. I have so much enjoyed and grown through this overview of the Bible and how God has worked in all of history to restore us in relationship with Him. But the best part of the end of The Story is that we get to take God home with us.
We're going to do that as we fill in the gaps of The Story this summer in a unique way. In worship we will experience portrayals of characters who were not included in The Story.
We're going to do that as we continue the privileged position and adventure of being part of God's ongoing plan in our everyday lives.
And we're going to do that as we anticipate Jesus' glorious and victorious return; and the resurrected life to come.
So, even as The Story ends, the next chapter begins.
