*Congratulations to Sue Palka, 2019 Michigan District Principal of the Year!

Travis Grulke, Superintendent of MI District LCMS Schools, shared this announcement with St. Matthew Lutheran Church & School:

"We are blessed with many Lutheran schools throughout the Michigan District, and all of those schools have administrators that play a vital role in the success of Lutheran education. Each year we lift up an outstanding principal who exemplifies what it

means to be a servant leader. It is our privilege to recognize Sue Palka as the 2019 Michigan District Principal of the Year."

"It is evident that Sue's ministry to the students, staff, and families at St. Matthew is one that should be celebrated. We are extremely thankful for Sue's leadership over the years. She is truly one of the gifted leaders we have in the district and one of the very best administrators I have seen in my years in education. We look forward to hearing how God continues to use Sue in the future to have a powerful impact on those she is called to serve!"

We thank our Father for calling Mrs. Palka to serve Him in ministry at St. Matthew as she seeks to faithfully serve Jesus. "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving" Colossians 3:23 - 24.

Mr. Grulke will present Mrs. Palka with an award on Sunday, May 19, at both the 9:40 am and 11 am worship services. An all-school celebration will take place soon thereafter as we joyfully embrace this recognition of Mrs. Palka's servant-heart and sharing Jesus' love with our students, families, and staff members.

Please join us for cake in the Hub at the Walled Lake Campus between services around 10:15am.
