Bone Marrow Donor Needed for John Carlton, husband of Ruth Carlton (former St. Matthew teacher)

"Dear Members,

My husband, John, was diagnosed with a hybrid form of Myeloid leukemia.  He has {myelodysplasia(MDS) and myeloproliferative (MPN), which is known as CMML-1.  It is very rare and aggressive. It has a 1 to 2 year survival rate. His white blood cell counts have dramatically increased these past 3 months. Getting a bone marrow transplant is the only cure.

We met with a bone marrow transplant specialist today and we are in the process of trying to find a match.  His cancer is progressing faster than anticipated.  Please consider being a match.  It is really easy. All you have to do is go online to www.BetheMatch.org to register.  They send you an envelope with the materials to do a cheek swab, and you mail it back. Please forward this email to friends and family.  Please consider being a match.  Please pray for him.

Sincerely,

Ruth Carlton  (former St. Matthew teacher)"
