The Messenger

  • Last Sunday, God moved the Congregational Assembly to issue a Divine Call to Steven Schmit to serve as a teacher/athletic director for our school.  Please keep him in your prayers as he now discerns whether or not to accept this Call.
  • Sarah Christian started questioning her Islamic faith and through people who witnessed to her through Facebook and Skype and through reading the Bible online, she came to know Jesus as her true Lord and Savior.  Her family started noticing the change in her life, they also saw her drifting away from Islam which caused a huge problem for her. Through continues prayers from her church family and God’s help, she miraculously escaped her dangerous situation and threat to life! Sarah now serves with POBLO International Ministries.  She is coming to speak at St. Matthew Walled Lake on Sunday April 22nd at 7PM on her experiences and about the Muslim faith.
  • An Open Forum will be held at 12:30 pm on Sunday, April 29, at the Walled Lake campus to present and get input on the proposed budget.  Then, the Annual Congregational Assembly (voters meeting) will be held at 12:30 pm on Sunday, May 6, at the Walled Lake campus.  Agenda items include: setting the ballot for elections and budget, report on the Constitution and Bylaws, and any items from the floor.  Please notify the church office a week prior, if you will need child care.  A light lunch will be available prior to both events.
  • This Tuesday, April 24 at 8pm is when pastoral candidates will be assigned Calls at the St. Louis Seminary.  You can watch a live stream of the service at

Sarah Christian started questioning her Islamic faith when she was seven years old until one day she started searching for answers to her genuine questions, but no one could help her. She got connected with a Christian person via Facebook and started talking about Christianity. Through online chats, reading the Bible online, and communicating with a missionary in Michigan via Skype, she was led to confess faith in Jesus Christ as her true Lord and Savior. Her family started noticing the change in her life, they also saw her drifting away from Islam which caused a huge problem for her.
