UPDATE:  We have a critical need for Crew Leaders and Assistant Crew Leaders for "Maker Fun Factory" VBS June 19 - 23, 2017.

If we do not get more Crew Leaders and Assistant Crew Leaders, we will need to cut off child participant registration very soon. We have many children signing up to participate, and not enough Crew Leaders to place them all in Crews.

“I first heard it said that addiction is just a symptom of a deeper problem. To me that sounded crazy; I thought ADDICTION was the only major problem in my life because it brought me so much pain. In a Celebrate Recovery Step Study... it was revealed to me that FEAR is the real problem in my life. FEAR took on several forms in my life like anxiety, worry, and insecurity, to name a few, and, simply put, I used drugs, alcohol, and sex to medicate and control my FEAR. So, today, I understand that FEAR is the deeper problem.”

VBS will be here June 19th - 23rd! While working on the “nuts and bolts” of VBS planning, we discovered WE NEED: Nuts and bolts, tin cans, and even some pool noodles to keep us afloat through VBS week! If you can help us out, please drop your donation off either outside of Room 304 at the Walled Lake, or the lobby desk at the Wixom Campus! Thank you and God bless!

FORE!!! Do you LOVE to golf? Would you LOVE to do it for a good cause? Then keep reading! AWPC's Summer Golf Outing is coming up in early June! Check the W.L. pro-life bulletin board for detailed info on this Saturday, June 10th event at Fox Hills in Plymouth. Join like-minded people for a fun day of 18-hole golf and an awards dinner -- all to support the life-saving work of Another Way Pregnancy Center (Farmington Hills). Register as a single golfer, a foursome, or just to attend the dinner, but act soon, because the price will go up in early June!

Every day at Another Way Pregnancy Center, moms come into the center for many things: ultrasounds, "Earn While You Learn" classes, moms' groups, and more. Sometimes they must bring their children with them, and it's hard to concentrate on an appointment with little ones in the room! So this summer, AWPC is hoping to open their new Kids' Room - a safe, fun place for these children to play while their moms have their appointments. BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP! We need volunteers! Must be 18 years of age or older, or 13 years of age with an adult.

Do you enjoy bowling?  Buy a ticket to attend Sunday, June 11th 3:30-6:30pm at Wonderland Lanes.  $15 will get you 3 hours of bowling, shoe rental, 2 slices of pizza and soda.  There will be a bake sale table to meet your sweet tooth needs as well.  So gather your friends, family, co-workers, neighbor, bible study groups and anyone else you can think of.  Contact Jan.roth@st-matthew.org to purchase your tickets.  248-624-7676 ext #113

Anna Dassow is offering mending and alterations to those in need.  The charge is $6 to hem pants, and $5 from every pair of pants, now until June 25th, will be donated to the DO SOMETHING project.  You may reach Anna at:  248-366-0241

The bad news for some families is that summer camp sessions at Camp Concordia are filling up. The GOOD NEWS is that we are working hard to create alternative sessions for those same ages.

Ours may be available on the date of your event! (This is a DO SOMETHING project.) The tent is 20 x 20 ft. and will fit 6 long "church tables" with chairs. (You provide those.) You help us with set-up; you take it down. The rental price has usually been $25, but this year, you can pay whatever amount you choose. (All proceeds will go to missions.) Check with Jim & Mary Walden for availability.
