Did you ever play Trivial Pursuit with a "know it all?" I'm talking about someone who has a significant level of useless information in their brain...and they've let it "go to their head." They are rather proud and boastful of their knowledge. Well, if you've ever played Trivial Pursuit with such a person or even just talked with someone like that, you probably wish that you didn't (unless it is just me who finds it difficult to be around those kind of people).
Here's the point. Jesus prayed in Luke 10:21, "I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children." If I want to grow closer to Jesus, then I need to repent of and remove any "know it all" thinking. The heavenly Father reveals spiritual realities not to "know it all" people (the wise and understanding), but to "little children," that is, to those who have a child-like awareness of how little that they know and a child-like dependency on the heavenly Father.
