Below you'll find our current list of volunteer opportunities where you can plug-in and be a part of the ministry here at St. Matthew. If you're interested in helping, click the link to view the opportunity and you can signup to help!

Altar Guild
Title Description Ministry View
Altar Guild The Altar Guild is currently looking for additional volunteers who would enjoy preparing and maintaining the altar for worship at our Walled Lake Campus.  Volunteers are assigned to a rotating team committed to serve approximately three hours on a Friday or Saturday morning once every 6 weeks to set up for communion, change altar paraments and banners to match the liturgical calendar, and to refill the altar candles as needed.  Contact thomas.czinder@st-matthew.org. Children's Ministry

Children's Church Teachers and Caregivers Needed Two teachers and 5 Caregivers as well as Substitutes are needed and are scheduled to help on a monthly basis. View and Signup
Vacation Bible School Under the exciting theme of “Sky” and based on the verse from Mark 10:21 where it says, “Everything is possible with God” students will have fun learning about how Jesus is there to help us in any situation.  Currently we are looking for 40 Adult Crew leaders and 40 Adult or Youth Assistant Crew Leaders.  Sign up now! Young Children I am interested in serving as a volunteer with children who learn about God in an environment that is fun, engaging, age-appropriate, interactive and relevant. View and Signup
Infants and Toddlers Serve as a volunteer in the nursery, giving care to children 3 and under during one of the worship services, during the educational hour, or in the day time nursery on weekdays. View and Signup

Connection Ministry

Family Life Ministry

Fellowship Ministry

Hospitality Team

Ushers Needed Ushers are needed at all services at the Walled Lake campus.  Individuals are scheduled to help once a month.  Contact Nick Wade. View and Signup
Walled Lake Community Hub/Coffee Bar Volunteers are needed to assist the Walled Lake Coffee Bar team in preparing and serving gourmet coffees before or after services. View and Signup
Greeters Serve as a volunteer by greeting and welcoming worshippers as they arrive for worship. View and Signup
Wedding Assistant Serve as a volunteer by assisting couples in making their wedding day run smoothly. View and Signup
Coffee Hub Serve as a volunteer by assisting the Walled Lake Coffee Bar team in preparing and serving gourmet coffees before or after services at our Walled Lake campus. View and Signup

Wedding Coordinators The wedding ministry is looking for individuals who wuld like to be part of a special occasion.  We are looking for someone who could assist once or twice a yeart to work with the bride and groom to keep the ceremony on schedule,  View and Signup

Human Care Ministry

Prayer Ministry Prayer Ministry:  Volunteers are needed to help lift-up our Church before God on Wednesdays at 5:30pm.  We’re looking for people with a passion for prayer, a deep belief in God and His power, and an excitement to see the powerful ways that God has been answering our prayers in the place! Music Team

Instrumentalist for Worship Instrumentalists are needed in our Blended and Contemporary Venues, especially brass players in Blended, drummers, keyboardists, and bassists, in our contemporary venues.  Contact Thomas Czinder. View and Signup
Music Ministry - Vocal Serve as a volunteer by assisting with vocal music in either the choir, Prayer and Praise team, New Vintage or other special vocal opportunities. View and Signup

Office Support

Properties

Grounds Keeping Serve as a volunteer who loves the outdoors and enjoys gardening and/or landscaping projects. View and Signup
Facilities and Maintenance Serve as a volunteer by helping with various handyman jobs around the church. View and Signup
Lawn Care The Properties ministry is in need of additional volunteers to mow the grass on the Walled Lake and Wixom properties.  Commitment to help mow once every 3 or 4 weeks is needed.  View and Signup

School Ministry

Welcome Center Volunteers are needed at the “Welcome Center” desk in the front lobby during the school day.  Volunteers provide a friendly warm, caring and welcoming presence at the Welcome Center during weekday school hours. View and Signup
