Volunteer!

Looking for a way you can plug into St. Matthew?  Well, you found it!  Below is our "Top Ten List" for current volunteer opportunities.  These are our top ways you can plug in and make a difference immediately!

If you see one you'd like to help with click the "View and Signup" link and you'll be able to view all the details about the opportunity and be able to signup to help with a simple signup form.  We'll then have the volunteer coordinator for the opportunity contact you soon.

These "Top Ten" are just a few ways you can help out.  Checkout the full list of current opportunities!

  1. Under the exciting theme of “Sky” and based on the verse from Mark 10:21 where it says, “Everything is possible with God” students will have fun learning about how Jesus is there to help us in any situation.  Currently we are looking for 40 Adult Crew leaders and 40 Adult or Youth Assistant Crew Leaders.  Sign up now!
  2. The Altar Guild is currently looking for additional volunteers who would enjoy preparing and maintaining the altar for worship at our Walled Lake Campus.  Volunteers are assigned to a rotating team committed to serve approximately three hours on a Friday or Saturday morning once every 6 weeks to set up for communion, change altar paraments and banners to match the liturgical calendar, and to refill the altar candles as needed.  Contact thomas.czinder@st-matthew.org.
  3. Ushers are needed at all services at the Walled Lake campus.  Individuals are scheduled to help once a month.  Contact Nick Wade.
  4. Instrumentalists are needed in our Blended and Contemporary Venues, especially brass players in Blended, drummers, keyboardists, and bassists, in our contemporary venues.  Contact Thomas Czinder.
  5. Volunteers are needed to assist the Walled Lake Coffee Bar team in preparing and serving gourmet coffees before or after services.
  6. Two teachers and 5 Caregivers as well as Substitutes are needed and are scheduled to help on a monthly basis.
  7. Volunteers are needed at the “Welcome Center” desk in the front lobby during the school day.  Volunteers provide a friendly warm, caring and welcoming presence at the Welcome Center during weekday school hours.
  8. Prayer Ministry:  Volunteers are needed to help lift-up our Church before God on Wednesdays at 5:30pm.  We’re looking for people with a passion for prayer, a deep belief in God and His power, and an excitement to see the powerful ways that God has been answering our prayers in the place!
  9. Serve as a volunteer by greeting and welcoming worshippers as they arrive for worship.
  10. Use your technical skills as a volunteer involved in lighting, sound, duplicating, videotaping, camera operation, or web site upkeep.
